FRIENDS BY PEDRONCELLI WINERY
It was all about the blends in the early years of winemaking for founder John Pedroncelli who used what he had growing in the vineyard to make his wine. One wine. It was a red blend. He made it by the barrel and people found their way to our little corner of Sonoma County, near the town of Geyserville, to tap into the barrels and carry away their gallon or two of the red.
Later on he made white wines alongside the red wines. Mountain Red, Claret, Burgundy, Sauternes, Sonoma Red, Sonoma White. These are just a few of the names used over our 95 years of making blends in Sonoma County. Today we have Friends Red and Friends White.
The nice thing about wines which are blends is they are uncomplicated, approachable and easy to drink. These wines are made for sharing with friends and family. No need to focus on the grape itself– enjoy the combination and layers of flavor each grape adds to the glass.
